Routines are important. Important for yourself, your kids, your partner and friends. A routine is planning and organising your day to day life. There are so many routines you can have. For example: A morning routine – Wake Up, shower, brush teeth, get dressed, apply skincare, brush hair, have breakfast, pack bag and leave. OR a cleaning routine – Wash dishes, wash down benches, throw out rubbish, vacuum then mop OR a gym routine – Cardio on Monday, leg day Tuesday, Wednesday yoga and so on. A routine to created by yourself. Routines make everything easier.
Tips to create a routine
- ย Know your goals – These can be objectives you need to achieve during the day (clean oven, complete house work, purchase school supplies, mow the lawn, visit parents etc)
- Create a task list – Task list help remind you of what needs to be done for the day. Task list should be written the day before
- Schedule/Timeline – Organise and prioritise your task to fit in you day. Your not going to wash your work clothes you need for tomorrow at 10 pm at night. Also leave time for lead way. Don’t pack 20 different things in 1 hour
- Stick to your routine – Especially when their are kids involved. I find having a bedtime routine for my kids, my kids go straight to sleep after a bath. If they don’t have a bath before bed, they are moody and less likely to enjoy a good night sleep.
- Readjust – If you find your routine isn’t working for your schedule, change it.
I personally have a routine for almost everything. A quick day routine for myself looks like this:
Morningย
- Prepare kids for the day (dress, brush teeth and breakfast)
- Organise myself for the day (shower, dress, makeup, brush teeth)
- Wash dishes
- Head to the shops to get lunch
Mid-day
- Prepare lunch
- Clean up lunch
- Vacuum main house areas
- Tidy Room
- Play with the kids
Afternoon
- Blog a little
- Catch Up on social media
- Play with the kids
Night
- Prepare and cook dinner
- Bath kids
- Put kids to bed
- Clean Up dinner
- Sit down and watch Vampire Diaries with my partner
Other routines to have can include; Skincare routine, a makeup routine, a meal routine, a work routine, fitness routine, blogging routine.

Im excited and dreading it at the same time๐๐ at least I only have 2 classes and one of them starts at noon so thats nice, haha. Def gonna need to start using my planner soon!

I always have a hard time sticking to some of my routines… like exercise, or eating healthy! I think it’s just about getting it down the first 30 days, and then it just becomes a habit ๐

I like routines. I don’t think I could function without them but exercise is most challenging! I do well with the getting things done routine-wake up, make breakfast, brush, shower, quiet time, get to work early, prepare to-do list, get home, make dinner, watch tv, sleep. However I would like to do well with my exercise routine. Any ideas?

I love routines; unfortunately, I don’t have the easiest time breaking out of them though or getting used to starting a new routine. I do think routines keep things in order but it’s good to also balance the work of routines in our life; sometimes our routines can limit us in my opinion if we are not careful about what those goals are. We make the plans but God determines the steps ๐

This is very helpful. It reminds me of how I need to change my routine. The one I have currently sucks.๐๐.Personally i can’t begin to imagine a life without a routine. Routine helps to keep our heads straight, focused and distractions are not tolerated.

I am trying a new routine in the evening. Just dedicating 10 to 15 minster before I go to bed to tidy up, put things away and keep on top of the laundry so that it isn’t all waiting for me at the weekend ๐

I used to be such a routine kinda gal but having kids threw me out of whack. I implement routine where I can but a 2 year old and a baby make it hard haha

I believe in routines except on weekends I have routine like exercise,skincare,blogging,cooking,watching movies,spending time with my family.
And finally having a wonderful time with my soul mate at the end of the day.
