I’m always keen to try new foundations as my skin is always changing with the weather. Sometimes its dry, sometimes oily, normal and even sometimes a combination. Everyone skin type is different. It’s currently summer here in Perth, Western Australia, and man its hot. I was recently sent the Maybelline Super Stay Foundation to try and review on my blog and here are my thoughts.*
*This product was gifted to me to give my honest opinion. In no way has the company influenced me to change my 100% honest opinion (Disclaimer)
Maybelline Super Stay® Full Coverage Foundation delivers 24-hour wear for concentrated coverage and a flawless finish that doesn’t fade or shift all day. – Maybelline Webiste
Cost
This foundation retails for $24.95 Australian Dollars
Packaging
The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pop of lid revealing a pump so there is no mess. I used a damp beauty blender for application. I started off with 2 pumps of foundation, starting from the middle of my face and working my way out. This way it blended out smoother. I required 4 pumps of the foundation to cover my whole face. There is no smell to this foundation. For my skin tone I use a mixture of 2 shades, Ivory and Nude Beige.
Texture
The foundation comes in a liquid form and was super easy to blend out. I have extremely dark circles around my eyes and it covered them with no help of primer or concealer. The foundation is definitely full coverage with a smooth finish. The formula dries to a light matte finish which I love and did not at all feel cakey. Although, even thought not needed, If you apply 2 layers of foundation it will feel very heavy on the skin. The foundation was not at all tacky and dried within seconds of applying. I really enjoy this formula.
Performance and Wear
The foundation lasted all day on my face. But I have an oily t-tone and noticed the foundation had slid off my nose throughout the day. I’ve been using this foundation for the past week and have noticed a few pimples around me nose area which I don’t normally get, but unsure if the change in foundation has caused it. I use a setting powder to hold the foundation on my nose.
Overall Thoughts
I really like this foundation. I would wear this foundation in the winter though as I feel the heat can make it melt off faster then the cool weather. I love the price point as well, its very affordable. Love when I can find a great drugstore product.
Have you tried this foundation? What did you think of it?

I’ll have to try this. I’ve been meaning to switch to a full coverage foundation. The Maybelline product that I’ve been using is called Super Stay Better Skin Foundation and has SPF 15 in it. Which might be medium to full coverage. It will be interesting to see how the two compare.

Oh yes! Would you do a comparison if you purchase this one? I would love to hear the difference 🙂 xx

I finally tried the bottle I picked up the other week. I definitely got the wrong color, a little too yellow and a shade too dark. It might work in the summer when I have a slight tan. Didn’t hate it but it definitely felt heavier then the Fit Me matte and poreless. I also noticed it sliding around on my oilier areas.

Yes is it a little heavier on the skin than the Fit Me one but still lighter then some of foundations I have tried 🙂 xx

Is it better than the very famous Fit Me Poreless Foundation?

Honest opinion no. I rather use the Fit me proeless foundation as I find it doesn’t slide off my nose 🙂

Great review, I found it to be the same, I also found a pimple after using it, which is really odd because I don’t normally get them, I hadn’t thought it might be the foundation!x

We don’t have this here in Singapore. The gripe that I have with drugstore makeup here is that it’s just so expensive! If you add a couple more dollars, you’d be able to get a foundation from Sephora!

Great post! Actually really want to try this foundation but cant find my shade yet or dark enough shades.. for some reason shops only stock caucasian shades so it’s almost impossible and it’s a shame.. still I really like your opinion:)

I loved reading this review, it’s very thorough and descriptive. I need to try this foundation, I think like you said, it sounds like it’ll perform better in the Winter without sweat and melting off, I love a foundation that has a medium to full coverage. 😊
